Sound Support


SWISSLOG allows You to record sound and to link the sound To calls and QSOs.

To Record and Add Sounds open the Sound-Recorder

Select Tools ¦ Sound-Recorder from main menu.

To see and listen the Sounds linked to a Call

Select VIEW ¦ Sounds of Callfrom main menu.

Basic operations and Concept

Store or Link Sounds

You can  store the complete sound in the database or only a link to the file containing the sound. 
Storing the sound needs more DB-Space but the portability is better because everything is contained in one file, the DB.
Storing a Link needs less space but the links can become invalid when You delete or move linked files.

Recording and loading Sounds

Recording and adding Sounds is always performed with the Sound-Recorder. The Sound-recorder allows You to record and to load already recorder Sounds. Only Sounds loaded into the Sound-recorder can be added.

Open the Sound-recorder by selecting Tool ¦ Sound-Recorder from main menu.

Add Sounds to Calls or QSOs

Sounds can be added to QSOs or to Calls. Sounds added to Calls are not associated with a QSO

To Add Sounds press the Show Add-Panel button. This opens the Add-Panel which looks like this:

Selected Sound shows the sound which will be added and Selected Call / QSO shows the Call and all QSOs with the selected Call to which the sound can be added.

To add a Sound proceed as follows:

Note: You can only add Sounds to Calls or QSOs when they exists. If You want to add a sound to a new QSO You have to save it first.

Display / Edit / Delete and Listen to existing Sounds 

To display a list of Sounds which exists for a call open the Sound of Call  (from the View menu) or Press the Show stored Sounds button in the Add-Panel of the Sound-Recorder. The Sounds of Call Window looks like this:

For Sounds which are associated with a QSO the QSO information are displayed.
