Sound Support
SWISSLOG allows You to record sound and to link the sound To calls and QSOs.
To Record and Add Sounds open the Sound-Recorder
Select Tools ¦ Sound-Recorder from main menu.
To see and listen the Sounds linked to a Call
Select VIEW ¦ Sounds of Callfrom main menu.
You can store the complete sound in the database or only a link to the file containing the sound.
Storing the sound needs more DB-Space but the portability is better because everything is contained in one file, the DB.
Storing a Link needs less space but the links can become invalid when You delete or move linked files.
Recording and adding Sounds is always performed with the Sound-Recorder. The Sound-recorder allows You to record and to load already recorder Sounds. Only Sounds loaded into the Sound-recorder can be added.
Open the Sound-recorder by selecting Tool ¦ Sound-Recorder from main menu.
Record Sound
- Select the Audio-Device You want to use by pressing on the
button
- Select the recording format from the Format - list
- Enter the Call.
Call is filled automatically as soon as You select a QSO in on of the QSO Views or in the QSO-Entry window. The Call is only used to construct a unique name of the sound. You can add a loaded sound to any Call independent of its name.- Press the Record button to start recording
- Press the Stop button to end recording
- Press the Pause button to interrupt recording
Load a Sound from a file
- Press the Load button to select the sound to be loaded. (remember only sounds loaded into the recorder can be added)
Play Sound
- Select the sound to be played in the Loaded Sounds list
- Press the Play button
Sounds can be added to QSOs or to Calls. Sounds added to Calls are not associated with a QSO
To Add Sounds press the Show Add-Panel button. This opens the Add-Panel which looks like this:
Selected Sound shows the sound which will be added and Selected Call / QSO shows the Call and all QSOs with the selected Call to which the sound can be added.
To add a Sound proceed as follows:
- Select the sound to be added in Loaded Sounds. If You want to add an existing sound file, You have to load it first into the Loaded Sounds using the Load button
- Select the Call to which the Sound should be added. You can select a call by
- Selecting a QSO in any of the QSO-Views
- Activate the QSO-Entry window to select the current Call
- Enter the Call into the Call Field and press return
- If You want to add the sound to a specific QSO, select the QSO in the QSO-list
- Select if You want to Store or Link the sound. If You want to link a recorded sound you have to save it to a file first using the Save button of the Sound-Recorder
- Enter a description into the Description field (optional)
- Press the Add to Call button to add the sound to the Call without an association with a QSO
- Press the Add to QSO button to add the sound to the selected QSO
Note: You can only add Sounds to Calls or QSOs when they exists. If You want to add a sound to a new QSO You have to save it first.
To display a list of Sounds which exists for a call open the Sound of Call (from the View menu) or Press the Show stored Sounds button in the Add-Panel of the Sound-Recorder. The Sounds of Call Window looks like this:
For Sounds which are associated with a QSO the QSO information are displayed.
- To listen to the selected Sound press the Play button
- To delete to the selected Sound press the Delete button
- To edit the selected Sound press the Edit button
