Statistic Overview
Statistics are used to display the status and the counts for Awards.
SWISSLOG contains a large number of predefined Statistics (Standard Statistics). Additional Statistics (Private Statistics) can be defined individually. Statistics can be displayed in different ways and are the base for the award administration. SWISSLOG also contains some standard Statistic Report Definitions. As with the Statistics, you can add your private templates which are stored in your Log database.
When a QSO is entered:
it is checked for which statistics the QSO qualifies
the Label of the entry field is changed to reflect which Statistic value it contains
the Statistic value is automatically filled if possible. Like DXCC, Region, DIG number and so on.
an Information Table is associated with the field which allows to retrieve all valid values for the Statistic
the dynamic Statistic Views (Quick-View and Quick-Info) are updated
When a Call is selected in a Logbook-View or in a DX-Window the dynamic Statistic Views (Quick-View and Quick-Info) are updated.
If a DX-Spot is received the Statistics Status is checked and displayed.
You can imagine that this represents a lot of work for your computer. So if you feel that entering QSOs is too slow you can deactivate unwanted Statistics!

Because only a limited number of fields are available to store Statistic information Variable Statistics are used if a field conflict would exist. Field conflicts are detected at run time. If you define Private Statistics you will get an error message when entering a QSO. You then have to deactivate one of the conflicting Statistics, use another field or use a Variable Statistic. A function is provided to re-assign a new field for a statistic, see resolve statistic conflicts.
